Telehealth Psychology Across NSW
The same evidence-based therapy we offer in Surry Hills — over secure video, from wherever you are.
Therapy that fits around your life
Why people choose telehealth
Telehealth makes therapy possible when getting to Surry Hills isn't — whether you're in regional NSW, juggling work and family, unwell, or simply more comfortable talking from your own space. Sessions run exactly like in-person appointments: same length, same approach, same psychologist. Many clients mix the two, coming into the rooms when they can and switching to video when the week gets full.
How telehealth sessions work
If you can join a video call, you can do telehealth — there's nothing to install or figure out alone.
1. Book online
Choose a telehealth appointment and a time that suits you — booking works exactly the same as for in-person sessions.
2. Receive your secure video link
Before your session you'll receive a private link. No accounts or downloads — it opens in your browser on any phone, tablet, or computer with a camera.
3. Settle in somewhere private
Find a quiet spot where you won't be interrupted, click the link at your appointment time, and we begin — the session runs just as it would in the consulting room.
Practical details
Same fees, same Medicare rebates
Telehealth sessions cost the same as in-person sessions and attract the same Medicare rebate under a Mental Health Treatment Plan — $149.05 back on a $270 individual session, leaving $120.95 out of pocket. Full details are on our fees page.
Telehealth — frequently asked questions
What people ask before their first video session.
Yes. With a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, telehealth video sessions attract the same Medicare rebate as in-person sessions — currently $149.05 per session with a clinical psychologist, for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year.
For many concerns — including anxiety, depression, and stress — research has found telehealth-delivered therapy produces outcomes comparable to in-person sessions. What matters most is the quality of the therapeutic relationship, which builds just as well over video for most people. If in-person suits you better at any point, you can switch — many clients move between the two.
A device with a camera and microphone (phone, tablet, or computer), a reliable internet connection, and a private, comfortable space where you won't be interrupted for the hour. Headphones can help with both privacy and audio quality.
It happens occasionally, and there's always a plan B — we'll simply reconnect, and if the internet won't cooperate we can finish the session by phone. You won't lose your session time to a technical hiccup.
Yes. Sessions are held over a secure video platform, and the same confidentiality that applies in the consulting room applies online. We'll also talk through simple steps to keep things private at your end, like using headphones and a closed room.
